その昔、電化されたペダル・スティール・ギターというのは、ハワイアンやカントリー＆ウェスタン、あるいはサント＆ジョニーであるとか、そういう音楽に触れるたびに、その空間的な広がりを感じさせる音色がずっと耳を離れなかったんですが、80年代末、B.J.コールが注目を集めて以降＞⭐︎、今となっては、様々な音楽シーンでアンビエントな効果を演出する楽器として使われているわけですね。まったく、その音色において大気の変化の表現が可能な楽器とでも言えるでしょうか？朝焼けや夕焼けを仰ぎ見るような気持ちにさせてくれる器楽演奏じゃないかと思います。
