A solo project by drummer/composer Michael Baird, with diverse gongs and bells from many countries, put into motion either by striking or shaking – like throwing a pebble into a pond. With an occasional thumb-piano added and on one track a Fender Rhodes. But please, this is no soppy new age stuff – this is modern music, created with technique, touché, touch, intuition, also leading to the discovery of rhythms to be found in the interplay of overtones. Well you know, a bit like buddhists along the Zambezi.
